the 1st Voice Test Sessions (March 1st-3rd @ Studio Colosseo) WERE A GREAT SUCCESS. Above all thanx to YOUR participation.
A REAL BIG THANX GOES TO YOU ALL.
The idea was well received and the response ratio was surprisingly high.
(58 recordings in 2 and a half days isn’t that bad at all!…damn good, I’d say.) Definitely a good AUSPICIUM. There were good vibes in the studio too. Of course, Big Thanx go to Tom and his engineers @ the Studio Colosseo and to Oliver @ Infolingua for the time (and passion) dedicated to the enterprise. And a big Bear Hug for Alison.
….So far so good. We’re well under way.
To start off with, we recorded the “majority” of anglophone talent, plus some of the principle european languages.(Yeah, you may say: “Done!”)…but, now we’ve still gotta edit them. And that’s hours of material! (and ..add a wee bit of harp music, maybe, for the documentary take, a jingle for the newsreel and some croaking crows and howling wind sound effects for the “Treasure Island” piece.)

Anyway, whoever missed out on the March sessions will now have the possibility to “catch up”.
FYI: We’re holding the 2nd batch of Voice Test Sessions: Sunday 5th (p.m.), Monday 6th & Tuesday 7th of April (a.m./p.m.).
Make that a date, folks. …Same time, same station: Studio Colosseo.
Other than “pick-ups” for people that couldn’t make it the first time round, these upcoming sessions will include: (some of) the eastern european languages: czech, slovak, polish, rumanian, serbo-croat, slovenian, hungarian, albanian and russian (for now). North-eastern european, skandinavian and the remaining principle european languages / voice talent will be called up as soon as possible. The arab and asian languages will be handled in an individual manner. Both hopefully before the end of April.
Alison Adam and/or I will be contacting you to fix your appointment in the coming days.

Meanwhile we’ve reached a proud list of 215 individual voices. And there’s more to come.
Please consider we’re talking real voice talent (not virtual)…all in house. Resident.
In fact, apart from keeping you all in the picture about work in progress, I need to pick your brains on who YOU could suggest for a voice test. Voice Professionals only please, mind you. (or, at least, colleagues coming from related categories like simultaneous interpreters, translators; of course any actresses/actors (or dubbers?) are particularily welcome. Please mail me your suggestions as soon as possible. (including her/his: surname, name; phone, mobile + e-mail address)

Oliver + Tom are checking all the “cyber spider merge things” and we’ve reserved a series of web dominions. The company will (most probably) take on the name of Voice Professionals Italy (dot com). Parallel to these operations we’ll be working on a straightforward and simple business plan that’ll cater for all our interests as a group (tariffes, social security and all that) and define the management and administrative aspects. We’ll be launching a promotion and marketing campaign world-wide. Both for the hard copy versions (all the principle trade directories) as well as on the web. We’re planning a newsletter / round robin and will be building our own website.
…as a closer, here’s one from Tom (himself):
“None of us is as good as all of us.”
yours aye! Edwin
